Anika Rodericks, the founder of AR, is a Womenswear Designer based in Dallas, Texas. With a passion for process and traditional craft, she is inspired by the fantastical element of her eastern heritage and grounded in the reality of her western upbringing - playing on the idea of opposites and contrasts. She references and reinterprets her research on period influences, culture, social class, and gender roles to create work that both comments on and embodies the in-between world she experiences. 

Juxtaposition is key when recreating elements of this world: raw and refined, dark and light, femininity and masculinity, innocence and seduction, structure and fluidity. Interweaving signature elements such as washed and dyed fabrics, intricate detailing and an emphasis on fine tailoring she creates clothes that contrast and merge to evoke a feeling of romance and discreet drama. 

Rodericks has previously worked at Proenza Schouler in New York and has been featured in Feroce Magazine. Upon graduation, Rodericks was awarded the Fashion Council Scholarship for her thesis collection “Unmasked” along with being a recipient of the Merit Scholarship and Rosenthal Groeling Carol Scholarship during her time at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While studying abroad in London and Paris Rodericks received training in couture embroidery techniques at the prestigious school of Lesage.
